About Us
Our Journey
We are a Carrollwood couple and empty nesters who never expected that one of our greatest adventures would begin right in our own backyard.
In 2023, we started keeping bees simply out of curiosity. What began with a few hives quickly became something much more meaningful. The more time we spent with our bees, the more fascinated we became by their world—and the more we learned to appreciate just how remarkable honey bees are and how important they are to our environment.
Beekeeping has taught us that you can’t rush the process. You learn to watch, listen, adapt, and respect what the bees need. Every season brings something different, and every hive has its own personality and rhythm. We’re still learning every day, and that’s part of what makes this journey so rewarding.
Our backyard hives have also connected us more deeply to our Carrollwood community and to the natural world around us. We’ve come to appreciate the flowers, trees, seasons, and pollinators that make our little corner of Tampa unique.
Today, we share what our bees produce through Beekmann’s Bees—our own raw, unprocessed honey and handcrafted beeswax and apothecary products, made in small batches from what we harvest from our hives. You can find us at local markets throughout the Tampa area, where we enjoy meeting our neighbors and sharing a little piece of our backyard with them.
For us, Beekmann’s Bees is about much more than honey. It’s about respecting the bees, practicing thoughtful beekeeping, supporting pollinators, and appreciating the remarkable work happening right outside our door.
We’re grateful for where this unexpected journey has taken us—and we’re excited to keep learning, keep beekeeping, and keep sharing the sweetness along the way.

What Makes Us Different
Our honey doesn’t travel far from the hive. It comes directly from our own backyard hives in Carrollwood, North Tampa, where we keep bees with care and harvest honey in a way that respects both the bees and the natural character of each hive.
We offer raw, unprocessed honey, including seasonal and thoughtfully infused varieties such as lavender, cinnamon, and spicy hot honey, as well as pure, natural honeycomb.
Harvested One Frame at a Time
One of the things that makes Beekmann’s Bees different is our approach to harvesting. We practice single-frame harvesting, meaning honey from individual frames is kept separate rather than blended together.
That means every harvest can have its own flavor, aroma, color, and character—shaped by the season, the local flowers in bloom, and what the bees were gathering at that particular time. Just like wine, no two harvests are exactly alike.
From Hive to Jar with Minimal Handling
We also use Flow Hive technology, which allows us to harvest honey directly from the hive with minimal disruption to the bees and without removing traditional frames for extraction.
The honey flows directly from the hive into our jars, helping us maintain a simple, low-handling approach from harvest to bottling.

Beekmann's Apothecary | Handcrafted Beeswax & Body Care
At Beekmann’s Bees, we believe that caring for bees is about more than producing honey. It’s about respecting the hive, using what the bees naturally provide, and creating something meaningful from it.
Our beeswax products are handcrafted in small batches using beeswax harvested directly from our own Tampa hives. From nourishing lip balms and body lotions to beard balms, healing salves, and propolis-based products, each item is made with carefully selected ingredients and attention to quality.
Beeswax is naturally protective and helps lock in moisture, making it a wonderful ingredient for everyday skin care. We combine it with thoughtfully chosen oils, butters, botanicals, and other ingredients to create simple, purposeful products for the hands, body, lips, and beard.
Because our beeswax comes directly from our own hives, every batch is a little different and carries a connection to our local environment. We don’t mass-produce our products or use unnecessary fillers. Instead, we focus on small-batch craftsmanship, quality ingredients, and making products we are proud to use ourselves.
Our handcrafted body care collection is a natural extension of the way we approach beekeeping: respect the bees, honor what they provide, and make something useful from it.
